After his time at the Zurich University of the Arts, he completed his photography education from 2003 to 2006.. Through his second passion, music, he discovered filmmaking and went on to direct and shoot numerous music videos. Between 2006 and 2012, he worked as a freelance photographer and additionally as a lighting technician and extra at the Zurich Schauspielhaus, as well as for the commercial film production company Pumpkinfilm.
From 2012 to 2022, he worked at the Zurich-based commercial production company Corpmedia as a director, DOP, editor, and colorist. Since 2022, Lars Badertscher has been working as a freelance photographer and filmmaker. In 2022, he completed his debut short film Solang Die Musig Lauft.
